Welcome to the WA Training Awards 2018.
With shifts and changes in the way we do business, there has never been a more important time for the State’s training system. A robust training sector is essential to future proofing the Western Australian economy and supporting the McGowan Government’s Plan for Jobs.
As some industries, like hospitality grow, and others transform through automation and technology, a strong training sector supports Western Australians to learn, retrain or upskill. Having highly skilled workers trained in the right areas ensures Western Australia is best placed to take advantage of new opportunities and remain competitive nationally and internationally.
It is therefore important to encourage and support programs that foster and celebrate success in Western Australia’s vocational education and training sector. The WA Training Awards celebrate the successes of exceptional students, apprentices, trainees, trainers, training providers and businesses across 12 prestigious categories.
The WA Training Awards recognise the dedication, innovation and excellence of individuals and organisations. When we acknowledge and showcase success we promote continuous improvement.
The support and experience gained through the awards program provides applicants with unparalleled personal and professional development opportunities, while also giving them the chance to gain national recognition for their achievements.
Previous winners have gone on to achieve incredible things from securing coveted positions in Michelin Star restaurants to dressing celebrities.
Organisations will be recognised as leaders in their field, setting the benchmark for high quality training and career outcomes, and individuals will benefit from a $3,000 study grant thanks to our sponsors.
I encourage you to participate in the awards and showcase the excellent work trainees, trainers and the training sector does.
Best of luck for the 2018 WA Training Awards and I look forward to hearing your stories.
